Petty Fr. Michael Petty is a native of West Virginia and grew up in Houston, TX. He received his education at Austin College (B. A.) and at Vanderbilt University (M. Div., M. A., Ph. D.). He serves as Canon for Adult Formation at St. Peter’s Anglican Cathedral, a position he has held since 2005, the year of the establishment of the church. Since its founding in 2014 until 2024, he served as Director of The Charles Simeon Institute. In addition to pastoral ministry, Fr. Petty has served as an adjunct faculty member at the Perkins School of Theology (Southern Methodist University), the Nashotah House Theological Seminary, and the Tallahassee Christian College and Training Center [formerly the Center for Biblical Studies]. He is the author of A Faith That Loves the Earth: The Ecological Theology of Karl Rahner, published by the University Press of America. Jeff Trostle, a native of south-central New York State, grew up in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of South Florida, a Masters of Theology from Covenant Theological Seminary and a Ph.D. from Whitefield Theological Seminary. Ordained in 1982, he served as an Adjunct Lecturer at Covenant Theological Seminary, and has served as an associate pastor and an interim pastor. In 2006 his ordination was transferred to the Presbyterian Church of America (PCA) and he served as a foreign missions pastor for five years. He currently serves as an active priest in the Gulf Atlantic Diocese. He is also an adjunct at the Charles Simeon Institute and the Lay School of Theology where he teaches courses in biblical and theological studies. He is the author of two books, Sabbath Rest and the Foundations of Holiness, and The Poet Tree, a book introducing children to the world of poetry.
